Tips and Tricks: Building Highly Scalable Websites

A integrate of weeks ago, during a Kentico Connection 2011 in Prague, we presented: “Building Highly Scalable Websites”. The display outline was as follows:

“In this session, we will see how to build rarely scalable websites and how to urge a opening of your website. You will also learn new facilities of Kentico CMS 6, like: Health Monitoring and External Services.”

This post covers a best practises that we demonstrated during my talk.

Tip 1: Setup is key, collect your components carefully!
Next, Next, Next simply doesn’t cut it. 

  • Adjust a Web templates, UI Cultures, Modules and a SpellChecker dictionaries.
  • Modify existent Kentico CMS installations during any time to cgange components.

Tip 2: Page sequence counts!

  • CSS during a top, (java)scripts during a bottom. Play with a order.
  • Use Content Delivery Networks (CDN’s).
  • Categorize a content tree: there should be reduction than 1000 child nodes per parent.
